AJ Jansen.jpg

AJ JANSEN has a long history and love of music. Music and performance are a core part of who Jansen is, and she loves sharing her passion with others. She’s been performing since age 6 and writing songs since age 10, surrounded by music from a 1st generation Polish family who encouraged her to pursue her artistic dreams.

She grew up listening to various instruments played in the home like trumpet and harmonica and lots of singing, there was never dull moment. From Rock, Pop even Polka music. But it was the sounds of Country and Folk music on Sunday mornings that grew in her soul.

Jansen first hit Nashville stages in 2006 after winning the Connecticut Country Music Association’s “Female Vocalist of the Year” award. Since then, she’s performed at countless venues - from New York’s The Bitter End, to Nashville’s iconic Tootsies, to headlining Hartford's Infinity Music Hall and Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut- traveling back and forth between Connecticut and Tennessee. Along the way, she’s had the opportunity to open for artists like Phil Vassar, James Montgomery and James Otto.

AJ’s passion for her creative craft has led to the following:

  • The Very First Artist to perform at the Dunkin Donuts Stadium, Hartford CT opening day

  • WWYZ IHeart Radio 2016 Best Country Artist in Connecticut

  • 1st Runner-up in Jim Halsey’s Starmaker Competition.

  • CMT Featured Video of "A Country Girl Can Survive:

  • Two time Nominee for best Country Artist by the New England Music Awards

  • Female Vocalist of the Year Horizon award winner from the North American Country Music Association (NACMAI)

  • Song of the Year Award winning "Moments" (NACMAI) written by AJ

Aside from traditional performances, she also loves performing for residents of local retirement homes, bringing her music to those who would otherwise not be able to attend her concerts. She has 5 Cd's all self-written and is performing in her own musical tribute show entitled "Outlaw Women of Country," a small Theatre show receiving rave reviews.

AJ will debut her “Outlaw Women of Country Music” with us at The Packing House - a musical journey that showcases the Women of Country Music that pioneered and changed Country Music forever. From the likes of Kitty Wells, June Carter-Cash to Dolly Parton, Tanya Tucker and Reba McIntyre from Jessi Colter to Shania Twain, Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift just to name a few. AJ Jansen uses her talents to bring you this incredible with some good ol favorites to modern day hits . You will come away with the memories, the songs and the appreciation of the Country Women who dared to dream and succeeded on their own terms forever changing Country Music for generations to come.
