EC-CHAP & the Podunk Bluegrass Music Festival Present: Monthly "Bluegrass Project" Featuring “BluesGrass” (1st Wednesday)
Admission: $10.00 at the Door
Our Monthly “Bluegrass Project” will introduce area bluegrass bands monthly who will perform their own style of bluegrass music, including traditional, contemporary and original songs.
This month’s Bluegrass Project will feature CT Bluegrass Band, “BLUESGRASS”.
The BluesGrass acoustic duo of Mark White (guitar, harmonica, vocals) and Jon Swift (upright bass, vocals) presents an “Americana” mix of bluegrass, blues, and oldies that adds up to a well-rounded musical experience for listeners. Their music features strong duet vocals with two lead singers, as well as powerful instrumental work, and they also provide brief bits of historical information about the origins of many of their songs.
These performances at the Packing House will be provided by regional musicians to help proliferate bluegrass music, to bring it to those who have not yet experienced it, to generate an interest in this American genre, to acquaint new people with the annual summertime Podunk Bluegrass Festival as well as other bluegrass music events occurring, year-around, throughout the tri-state area.
Bands wishing to be included in the lineup for the 2018-2019 season should contact Myrna Riquier at 860-455-9400 or firstname.lastname@example.org. 1st Wednesday of the month, February - May 2019.
The monthly "Bluegrass Project" at The Packing House is hosted by the Eastern Connecticut Center for History, Art, and Performance (EC-CHAP) and the Podunk Bluegrass Music Festival. Open to the general public. $10.00 at the door. Doors open 6:30pm / Show 7:00pm.
