EC-CHAP "Acoustic Artist Series": Eric Lee (Folk/Bluegrass)
Tickets $12.00 in Advance (online) / $15.00 at the Door
A masterful and engaging multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Eric Lee has performed in countless settings, from southern roadhouses and festival stages to pit orchestras, London pubs, and the theaters of Beijing. Most recently, Lee performed on the main stage of the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival.
His songs are a hybrid of poetic lyric with a singular melodic sense strongly rooted in the folk, bluegrass, and Irish traditions. Having accompanied such legendary artists as Eric Andersen, John Gorka, Peter Rowan, the Nields, Dave Navarro, and Tom Rush, Lee has drawn inspiration from these legendary artists, and is making a name for himself in a new generation of songwriters and balladeers.
The music of Eric Lee is a chimera of genres and influences; an ever-evolving world of sonic exploration with stand-alone melodies always at it's core. His new EP traverses a range of emotion, from the unbridled joy of love in "Miles Above the Ground" to the wrenching pain of Eros in "To Write you a Song"; the unflattering honesty of coping with loss ("Life Without You") to the cosmic petition to the ancient powers in "Hands of Fortune" (Eric Lee).
